Today I’ve finally been able to sort out my previous Pi NoIR project to work on my new Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W. That being said, my old project is due for tremendous adjustments and upgrades, these will be shared soon.
As a note, I noticed flaws in my logic in the old code:
- The focus doesn’t take into account where the motion occurs, every few shows it takes a look at focus, and since most of what it sees is grass here, that’s where it got the zoom closest
- Brightness is a flaw I had in the past, I did adjust it, but you can see it needs work in the saturation differences in the gallery below
I have several interesting ideas I am moving towards with the project, since I had to adjust interaction in several places. One would be a system to keep automated ‘on/off’ so you can run it on your car USB and go on a game drive, mid way through stop for lunch, then when your car starts again it starts the motion detection. Similarly, this would mean it would be lovely to be able to see the latest image as well on the web interface. A few others, I’ll just share them if I decide to add them as well.
Suggestions are, of course welcome. The other thing to share is the responsive gallery below, please, let me know if there are any problems with it. Thank you, kindly. Remember: You can click on the images in galleries.
I also upgraded the gallery on Dinokeng 29 April 2022.
