A new game jam is on the way! Be sure to check it out, especially if you’re interested in making your first game(s)! The SA Game Jam 2025 starts on Friday 19 September 2025, and the two ending times are 6pm Sunday (SAST, 48 hour) and 6pm Monday (SAST, 72 hour). I believe the theme will be announced on Friday evening. There are prizes, but it can also be a fun way for you to learn how to make a game and even join the Make Games SA community. I loved how I contributed to it starting out, way back when.
While my own Vulkan experiment fell flat, at only untextured 2D and 3D rendering with C# integration, I jumped in on the Godot ship as I love what they’re doing for the engine where the latest has vulkan, already! I’d love to contribute to it, did some builds with features I wanted, then found they were actually already implemented – the curse of “always read all the existing code first.” But I digress, the main thing to consider this time is, while I’m enjoying the lessons and porting SokoBomber to Godot 4.4.1 .Net, I needed a refresher on Godot 3.6 to have a great web export functionality, as I only tried it out when it was released, it didn’t stick in my mind back then.

While I’m slowing moving through porting the original from other engines, and adding procedural generation, I’ve been having more fun in the 3D environments as refreshers!
I figure this weekend I will do a refresher on Godot 3.6 .Net and then can use that for the jam. Who else feels like competing?
