As it turned out this year, I managed to work out a few important adjustments in my day-to-day life that are already showing tremendous results. I felt like after the difficulties, I could just make this next year into a better experience for myself. It started off of a simple idea, which I will post about soon, the Let Them Theory. It is twofold, mind you, as by using Let Them, you can also start to use your own Let Me.
While reading through it the first time, I heard something from someone on TikTok that clicked for me, the 2-hour challenge. That’s why on the 4th I began, so now on the 25th I’m at 21 days of using it consistently already. What is the 2-hour challenge, you might ask?
You can spend as little as 2-hours daily to improve yourself. Yes, just 2 measly hours a day, just over 8%, 4% odd in exercise, 4% in other improvements. 730 hours a year, hence 30.4~ days, spent on self-improvement. I bet you’ve even seen the TikTok trend of people watching TV in the evening on a walking pad, even that can fill you 2-hours for the day!
Adjusted and simplified to allow me to do whatever I want:
- Do 2 hours of “extra” activities for improvement every day
- High-Priority: Full Exercise routines every day (or rest day cardio)
- Medium-Priority: Passive income project(s)
- Low-Priority: Fun personal projects
- Track ONLY 2 hours you’ve put in extra every day; don’t count extra time spent on them
- First time in any listed (1.a-c) counts to timer; can’t miss High-Priority time
- Missed High-Priority: Add’s 1 hour extra needed on next day, so 3-hour day instead of 2-hour day, if you don’t do it your day only counts as a 1-hour day instead of 2 (i.e. skip exercise today, 1 hour day, tomorrow, 1 hour extra for other things, still have to catch up on hour exercise)
To start this off and get my 22-day streak going, I realised I need to adjust my ideas on my projects. Instead of jumping back and forth between an excessive number of projects, this year started with a 4-step division. Use a single project, the main focus, for 3 months. Not stopping other projects, rather putting a single project into the main priority.
That means I can spend the time in this challenge for other pressing tasks I need to do, for instance when I had to move some of my personal services onto Azure – I did and completed the move, but I’m always still focused on one main project. For this reason, I’m near able to show off the beta of Active e-Fitness: Hyper, as well as closing in on my active daily exercises once more.
At the time of this post, I am sitting at the end of the day, and I’ve already spent a total time of 2 days, 8 hours, 52 minutes, following the 2-hour rule for this year on self-improvement! AeF Hyper has hit closed alpha, I’m only adjusting features and bug fixing now, and I’m closing in on moving it to a closed Beta. It’s already more exciting and at least showing off that this mindset is doing a great job.
